About me

My name is Indre. I’m a Lithuanian glass artist currently based in Sweden, creating darkly elegant, symbolic works that merge traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary vision.

Roots & Inspiration

Possessing a melancholic nature, I developed a fascination with dark, atmospheric, philosophical, and macabre themes from a very young age. Gothic architecture, dark literature, macabre art, and underground music have profoundly shaped my sense of beauty and artistic style.

The Beginning

My journey with glass art began in 2009, when I started studying Decorative Glass Art at Kaunas College in Lithuania, earning a Professional Bachelor’s degree in Glass Art and the Qualification of Master in 2012. My studies focused on techniques such as glass fusing, casting, slumping, and stained glass.

Returning to the Path

After graduation, I moved abroad, which led to a long pause in my creative work. Although I stepped away from art for nearly a decade, the connection never disappeared. Eventually, I returned to glass and to the path I was always meant to follow.

I now work under my name, Indre, alongside my pseudonym Noctum, which reflects my affinity for the night and everything I associate with it.

Material & Practice

Glass remains my primary medium, often combined with metal and handmade filigree elements. I am self-taught in the art of crafting filigree ornaments, which I use to enrich my work with intricate, handcrafted details.

My fascination with traditional glass painting has led me to develop new skills independently, including kiln-fired painting and gilding.

My Approach

My passion for glass, traditional techniques, Gothic architecture, symbolism, and dark art inspires me to create pieces that are not only decorative but deeply meaningful. Glass fascinates me with its unpredictable nature and its endless potential to convey refined elegance.

It is an art form that demands discipline, patience, and knowledge, yet continually challenges me to explore new boundaries.

Through my work, I strive to breathe new life into an ancient craft, adapting it to a contemporary context while stepping beyond conventional limits.
